Childcare Staff Training

This two-hour professional development training equips daycare teachers with practical knowledge and tools to understand how trauma impacts young children’s brain development, behavior, and learning. Participants will explore common trauma-related behaviors seen in early childhood classrooms and learn how to respond using regulation-based, relationship-focused strategies. The course emphasizes the importance of co-regulation, predictable routines, and calm, consistent boundaries while maintaining appropriate classroom structure and safety. Teachers will leave with actionable techniques to reduce challenging behaviors, strengthen classroom relationships, and create a safe, supportive environment where all children can learn and thrive.

This 2–2.5 hour blended learning course combines a self-paced online portion with an in-person skills session. Participants will learn how to recognize and respond to emergencies involving adults, children, and infants, including CPR, AED use, choking relief, and basic first aid. During the hands-on session, participants will practice essential lifesaving skills and demonstrate competency to earn certification. This course is ideal for childcare providers, educators, caregivers, and anyone who wants to be prepared to respond confidently in an emergency.

This training provides early childhood educators with proactive classroom management strategies that support positive behavior, increase engagement, and create safe, predictable learning environments. Participants will explore the relationship between behavior, routines, classroom environments, and teacher-child relationships while learning practical strategies that can be immediately implemented in their classrooms.
