Custody Support Services
Our custody support services focus on finding the best possible outcomes for each child. We help the adults who love and care for them learn to navigate complex relationships while keeping the child’s best interests as the focus.
Our Approach
Our approach is grounded in emotional intelligence, accountability, and child-focused decision making. We work with families to understand the full dynamic between all parties so that concerns can be addressed consistently and relationships can move toward a healthier co-parenting structure.
Research consistently shows that children tend to do best when they are able to maintain relationships with both parents when it is safe and appropriate to do so. Our services are designed to help parents develop the communication skills, awareness, and structure needed to support that outcome.

Our work begins with developing a clear understanding of each family’s unique history and dynamics. Custody arrangements evolve over time, and understanding past experiences, communication styles, and parenting roles helps us support families in building healthy and stable co-parenting relationships moving forward. Our approach is grounded in emotional intelligence and emphasizes: self-awareness emotional regulation accountability respectful communication problem-solving during challenges Parents who participate in our services should expect direct and honest conversations about parenting dynamics we observe. Our role is not to avoid difficult topics, but to help identify patterns that may be affecting the family system and the well-being of the child. While one parent may initiate services, we do not advocate for one parent over the other. Our responsibility is to support outcomes that promote the child’s best interests and long-term well-being.
When Custody Support Services May Be Helpful
Custody support services can be helpful in many different family situations. Some families are navigating ongoing conflict, while others are working to establish healthier co-parenting structures after separation.
High Conflict Communication Some parents struggle to communicate effectively after separation. Conversations may escalate into arguments or misunderstandings. Structured communication support and co-parenting education can help parents develop strategies for discussing parenting decisions and resolving disagreements.
Court-Involved Custody Situations Families involved in custody proceedings may need documentation, coordination, and communication support. Our services help parents improve communication while also navigating the court system.
Substance Use or Accountability Concerns In some custody situations, concerns may exist related to substance use or behaviors that affect a child’s safety. When appropriate, we offer drug and alcohol testing services that may help provide reassurance to parents, attorneys, or the court.
Parent Re-Entering a Child’s Life After Time Apart Sometimes a parent is working toward reconnecting with their child after a significant period of separation. This may occur due to past relationship conflict, legal circumstances, addiction recovery, or other life challenges. Re-establishing a relationship after time apart can be emotionally complex for both the parent and the child. Our services help support this transition by focusing on: • rebuilding trust • establishing consistency • understanding the child's emotional responses • creating gradual and healthy reconnection The goal is to support a safe and healthy relationship moving forward when appropriate for the child.
